Christ Episcopal Church is a vibrant community that welcomes all people, regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender expression, sexual orientation… we are all one family in Christ. Our church welcomes young families and strives to provide a comfortable environment for worshiping with children.
Our worship services are Eucharist-centered and baptized Christians of all ages are invited to receive communion. Services and liturgical events are structured to meet the spiritual needs and wants of our members, and to encourage visitors to feel welcome. Sunday morning offers two services; the first being Rite II with music and choir and the second, a Latino service in Spanish with culturally traditional music. We value equality and welcome all to attend any service. Church school is held during both Sunday morning services.
Christ Episcopal Church is located on eleven acres of beautifully-landscaped grounds at the Jersey shore in Toms River, New Jersey. Founded in 1865 in the heart of downtown Toms River, we have a long history as a vibrant and welcoming parish through our rich tradition of worship, music and outreach. Over the years, efforts have been made to provide support for the entire span of people’s faith lives. People have been married and held their wedding receptions at Christ Church, had their children baptized and raised them in the faith, and interred loved ones in the Memorial Garden.
Christ Church has various outreach programs including the Christ Church Food Pantry, Your Grandmother’s Cupboard, and the Lay Eucharistic Visitors, to name just a few. These programs are all operated by Christ Church volunteers.
