Fellowship Ministries

The purpose of our fellowship ministries is to provide fun and a way to get to better know your fellow parishioners. We welcome your participation and/or leadership on any of these activities.

  • Sunday morning Coffee Hour is a great way to catch up with church friends.  We have a core of volunteers whose ministry is to prepare and serve "coffee and" after our Sunday morning services.  We all know how guests can become lost in a crowded narthex or unnoticed as parishioners visit in closed circles of conversation.  Why not take a visitor to coffee next Sunday?
  • On every month that has five Sundays, our volunteers serve a full Parish Breakfast on the fifth Sunday morning. This  group can always use a few more workers who rotate over various Sundays.
  • Our social committee has occasionally run  Excursion Trips.  Our  River Lady cruises have been very popular over the last few years. Let us know if you have a good idea for a future outing.
  • The Parish Picnic is held yearly in the early fall. This is one event you just can't miss! The barbecued ribs and chicken are always yum yum. Side dishes and desserts  are provided via pot luck.
  • Each year we run one or more Fund Raisers for our  mission parish in South America. Wine tasting parties and gormet meals ave taken place in the past. 50/50 drawings are always part of the festivities.
  • The parish's Book Club meets once a month, in the library (Where else?) to discuss a book the members have previously chosen. Books selected deal with a myriad of topics and only occasionally with a religious theme.
  • Our annual  Holiday Fair is run by the Women of Christ Church  usually on a weekend in late November. You won't find a better place to start or finish your Christmas shopping. And it's a great fund raiser for the parish.
  • Foyer Groups have recently been started at Christ Church. The term "foyer" is French for fireplace and comes from the Latin, meaning hearth. Foyer Group meetings usually include groups of adults that gather together in different homes for simple meals or desserts. It's amazing how many new friendships are developed through Foyers; these groups really help parishioners feel more involved with the church. Can't cook? Small apartment? Don't worry! You can gather at a restaurant, order in, or try a potluck.
