Evangelism

"Evangelism," according to Webster's dictionary, means "The promulgation of the gospel. " Our Evangelism Ministry is always exploring new avenues and seeking new opportunities to attract new members.  We welcome suggestions and ideas! This ministry includes the following activities:

  • Name Tag Coordination - Christ Church name tag system is maintained and updated as needed so that visitors can more easily get to know current parishioners.
  • Newcomer's Packet Coordination  - the Christ Church Newcomer's packet, which includes 12 brightly colored information inserts about Christ Church, is produced for distribution by the Rector to repeat visitors and newcomers.
  • Newcomers Ministry -  this ministry identifies repeat visitors to and new members of Christ Church thru the Fellowship Journal and by personal contact; provides a welcoming call to the new member; and follows up with a welcoming gift delivered to the new member (bread loaf with a personal message).
  • The Ministry coordinates and co-hosts a semi-annual "Open House with the Rector" for new members.  An informal gathering held at the Rectory for Christ Church newcomers, the Open House provides new members an opportunity to socialize with the Rector, ask questions and meet attending Vestry and Office staff in a casual setting.
