MARK YOUR CALANDARS – NOVEMBER 20, 2008 CHRONICLE MAILING AND HOLIDAY BULLETIN –EXTRA HELP NEEDED.

The Book Club will meet at 7pm on Thursday, November 20th in the Library. This month’s book is “In the Woods” by Tara French.

Christ the King Dinner: Scheduled for Saturday, November 22nd has been postponed.

Why a Patronal Festival? Why, next weekend, November 22 and 23rd, does the Church need a special time to celebrate Christ the King when we know he’s always with us, every Sunday, every day? We choose to have a Festival celebration at this time to make ourselves even more aware of His presence among us, to worship Him more fully than we sometimes do on “just” another Sunday.

Youth Group Poinsettia Sale: Orders will be taken starting Sunday, November 23rd through December 14th, before and after each service. There are a large variety of sizes and colors. Pick up will be on December 21st. Thank you for supporting the Youth Group.

Thanksgiving Baskets during this season we will be collecting perishable and non-perishable food items to be donated to families in need. Basic items can be found on the GIVING TREE located outside Disciples Hall. We are seeking turkeys, hams, food cards and monetary donations. Your donations help many families. Donations to the church by SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 23TH.

CHRISTMAS PAGEANT REHEARSAL: Starts on 11/30 following the 10:15am service (approx. 11:30-12:30). Rehearsal Sundays are 11/30, 12/7, 12/14, 12/21. Dress Rehearsal Friday, 12/19 6-8pm; Pageant December 24th at 4pm. Children and Parents are needed, please contact Denise at denisecel@verizon.net.

December 5th “Scrooge the Musical” at 7:45PM Strand Theatre in Lakewood $27.00 for show. Tickets can be purchased through Toms River Caregivers office contact Judi 732-505-2273 ext 209.

Faith Scrap Booking coming to Christ Church on Dec. 6th from 10am-5pm. Sharon Sheridan, author of the book Faith Scrap Booking will be holding a class in the library. Cost will be $65 and will include all supplies except adhesives. Lunch, snacks and drinks are included. You will complete an 8x8 faith scrapbook by the end of the class. Sitting is limited and if you are interested please contact Susan Morgan to register for the class. simorgan.nj@verizon.net

December 7, 2008 Mark your calendars, ALL PARISH HOLIDAY BREAKFAST AFTER BOTH SERVICES.

Affinity Program at Commerce Bank, if you or anyone you know has an account at Commerce Bank, please call the bank or pick up 2 blue forms by the nametag boxes and take them to the bank. Christ Church will get a percentage of the average daily balance in all accounts listed through this program. No fund will be ever be touched in your accounts. And yes, you will receive all interest on interest bearing accounts. Commerce just sends money to us. It’s a no-lose offer for the Church and you. Let’s get as many people signed up as we can.

Parish Pay: Interested in an automated giving option? We can arrange for automated giving through Parish Pay. Your donation to Christ Church can be made via direct debit to checking and saving accounts or a credit card. No more writing checks or searching for cash to put in envelopes. The Evangelism Commission is seeking volunteers to assist in many different areas. Are you talented with computers and have access to either an ink jet or laser printer? We have printing projects for you! Do you have a passion for meeting and welcoming new people? We are developing a new Greeters’ ministry! Do you enjoy chatting on the phone with people? Are you available to help deliver a welcoming loaf of freshly baked bread to newcomers? Our Newcomers Committee needs your help! An organizational meeting will be scheduled soon.
